Description
Housing the collections of the DCLI and Light Infantry

The museum was started as a Regimental collection in The Depot in 1925 and has since expanded to occupy two floors of The Keep in Bodmin. It is divided into four parts, the DCLI history, the armoury and medal room, the history of the volunteers and militia and the most recent addition, the Light Infantry collection.

Regimental history from 1702 as Fox's Marines to the 32nd and 46th of Foot, through formation as the DCLI, amalgamation with the Somerset Light Infantry to form the SCLI, the disappearance of all of the famous County names with the formation of The Light Infantry and finally rebranding as "The Rifles" in 2007 is covered in great depth. The armoury contains one of the finest collections of small arms and edged weapons in the country, all of the Regimental Victoria Crosses, a colourful display of period uniforms and the Harry Patch collection. The Light Infantry collection includes an extensive display on Northern Ireland and the largest section of the Berlin Wall in the UK.

The museum is situated in Bodmin, Cornwall, and is clearly signposted from both the A30 and A38.
